About

Rohan Bahadur is currently a Postdoctoral fellow at Global Innovative Centre for Advanced Nanomaterials (GICAN), University of Newcastle, Australia. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of Newcastle in 2023 under the supervision of Prof. Ajayan Vinu (Director, GICAN). He finished his M. Sc. Chemistry from VIT University, Vellore, India. After completing masters, he worked in Indian Institute of technology Bombay on 2D materials such as graphene, MoS2, WS2, MXenes and their 0D analogues (quantum dots) for cancer theranostics and biosensing applications.
Currently, he is working on functionalised carbon nitride materials and their hybrids with a multitude of fascinating nanoporous materials for its use in energy and environmental applications as part of his Ph.D. work. These materials are tested for its use in Li-ion, Na-ion batteries and hybrid capacitors and also in supercapacitors. Due to their porous nature, they are also highly useful for environmental applications such as CO2 capture and conversion, H2 storage.
